Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for blind peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any third-party owned material included with the submission, such as figures or datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

By simply submitting your article, you confirm that requirements for submissions have been fulfilled. All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Instructions for Authors.
  • This submission has not been previously published, partially or totally, nor is it being consedered for publicaiton by another journal .
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all figures, datasets and other third-party owned material provided with this submission.
  • All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
  • Any potential conflict of interest has been disclosed. 
  • A data accesibility statement has been included in the manuscript. 

Original Articles

This section includes papers that present an original scientific contribution based on data collection and/or analysis, and include sufficiently detailed experimental methodologies to allow the study to be replicated by others. Manuscripts should follow this structure: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Supplementary Information, Author Contributions, Acknowledgments, Conflicts of Interest, Data Availability, and References. 

Short Communications

Communications are short reports presenting preliminary or particularly relevant findings that form part of a broader investigation. Their organization should follow that of a standard original article.

Review Articles

Review papers are expected to provide a critical and integrative review of existing knowledge on a specific topic, highlighting current limitations, unresolved challenges, and perspectives for future research. They should not include previously unpublished experimental data. The recommended structure is: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Main Sections / Thematic Sections, Conclusions, Perspectives, Acknowledgments, Conflicts of Interest, and References.

Opinions

Opinion articles are concise manuscripts that convey the authors’ views or interpretations on a particular topic or issue, especially emerging or debated topics within the journal’s scope. Their structure resembles that of a review article, but they are shorter and focus on the authors’ perspective rather than on providing a comprehensive, systematic review of the literature.

 

Perspectives

Perspectives discuss emerging trends and possible directions for research in a given field; they reflect the authors’ expert assessment. The arguments should be supported by recent literature (preferably from the past three years). The structure parallels that of a review article.
