Abstract

This article presents an experience of work within the Improvement Plan of the Faculty of Psychology of the National University of La Plata, called “Childhood and Mental Health: access to health”, under the direction of Professor María Cristina Piro . The Plan for Improvement “Children and mental health: access to health” has been addressed directly to the actors of the different Community Centers of University Extension of the National University of La Plata. In this experience, advanced students of the Psychology careers, graduates of the Faculty of Psychology UNLP and professors of different chairs of our house of studies have voluntarily participated. The participating chairs are linked in different ways to childhood and adolescence: Evolution Psychology I, Psychopathology II, and Clinical Psychology of Children and Adolescents. In addition, invited teachers have participated in order to train in specific areas such as socio-community interventions and human rights, among others. We will introduce this work experience as a training and research device to detect, relieve and intervene on instances of subjective illness and specific psychopathological problems of early childhood and adolescence in social contexts, emphasizing the design and execution of strategic interventions on childhood and adolescence. In order to describe the variety of research called “action research”, the main features of the implemented devices will be developed, based on the emergencies surveyed in the territories. In this way we verify the proposed methodology has been relevant to address the field of subjective problems in childhood and puberty. As partial results, we have confirmed the reiteration of subjective emergencies of children and youth that are linked to varieties of violence, and we have contributed in the invention of devices that are offered as places of configuration of alternatives facing such problems in childhood and puberty.
