Abstract

Each theoretical framework accounts for a possible dimension to the functioning of the psychic apparatus, delineating its scope and limits from its theoretical - clinical foundations. From there, to establish the status of sublimation and to play in its relation with the processes of symbolization in children and adolescents supposes to maintain a certain conception about the functioning of the psyche, with regard to the legality that governs it and its possibilities of production that the same game in its deployment allows to unveil. Approaching an inquiry about sublimation, play and processes of symbolization involves considering the defensive modes in childhood and the modes of organization of the psyche linked to the appropriation, domination and elaboration of a social field that involves the desire for new knowledge and the Output to shared logic. The ludic modalities, typical of each historic moment, given in the context of a particular culture, are presented as one of the possible ways that transmit modes of registration of v time-space coordinates. In that line, playing as a resting place of the psychic demands, missed of the reality temporal space but in the condition of its installation, can become an act of symbolization if in that same doing there is a transformation in the primary defensive processes of Immediacy and impulse discharge.
