Abstract

The purpose of this work is to investigate the myths present in the discourses of children and young people, who make excuse of violent practices. Based on this objective, we analyze the productions developed in a film workshop for children and young people -immigrants from Bolivia and Peru- in the neighborhood called “El Futuro”. Among the productions of this workshop there is a video clip that expresses a global vision about violence against women by its participants. The analysis of these discourses allowed us to identify some justificatory myths of violence against women, which fulfill, in the patriarchal system, the function of constituting specific gender subjectivities, which reproduce a system of oppression/submission. These myths show that personal experience involves and represents the subjective dimension of political, cultural and economic factors.
