Anorexia: un cuerpo desconocido en mi espejo

Abstract

The present work is a theoretical-clinical research result of the Final Work for the career Specialization in psychoanalytic clinic with children and adolescents belonging to the National University of La Plata (UNLP). This research is focused on anorexia. The reason for its elaboration is related to the frequency and the social transcendence with which they appear today. Given this panorama, a question arises: how to approach these cases therapeutically? In order to try to respond to this concern, a brief historical tour has been made about this complex ailment. Throughout the work, you will be able to find relationships that are established between anorexia and hysteria, adolescence and also with the cultural construction of the body and therapeutic isolation in institutions. In this article, the importance of psychoanalysis in the theoretical-clinical approach of anorexia is highlighted. A theory that can guide us along the way, both in the diagnosis and in the treatment. Likewise, it is about arriving at an answer to the question about the institutionalization of the anorexic, its convenience or its adverse effect.
