Abstract

The article focuses on the analysis of collective agency processes and disputes in the territorial dimension. It is proposed to think of territorial actions as semiotic acts, which interweave categories of gender, ethnicity, class, which acquire a specific meaning in the case of women and young people. The theoretical and empirical reflections that are presented refer to the Institutional Strengthening Project “Mental health and promotion of non-violent social ties”, and the Research Project (PPID) “Approaches to violent social practices: their uses and senses in high Social vulnerability” to the Faculty of Psychology of La Plata University (UNLP). The territorial dimension, as a social construction, is conjugated with the migrations and characteristics of the resident community in the neighborhood “El Futuro”, where innovative action research actions are presented at the moment of thinking about interventions from a human rights perspective and gender approach. The analysis that we present has as main bet the conception of the social space as a semiotic act, configured through signs and symbols, in which the specific logics of the use of the same from the perspective of the children, young people and women, both individually and collectively. In this sense, we delimit three spatial dichotomies: the public and the private; the urban and the rural; the own and the other, that allow us to review the intersections of gender, class, nationality, race, ethnicity and at the same time recover the multidimensional of the processes studied. The action research methodology implemented in the project, with the category of gender as transversal axis, allows us to analyze the ways of inhabiting the territory in a complex way. The conceptual and analytical route proposed revises the dimension of territoriality, contemplating the strategies of disciplining bodies through the social space.
