Abstract

Our goal is to convey a work experience carried out with people staying in the Departmental Alcaidía III of the city of La Plata, Province of Buenos Aires, under the Extension Project of the Faculty of Psychology at the National University of La Plata called “Tearing Down Walls: Word And Subjectivity In Context Of Confinement” that was operative in 2014 in the Extension Centre of the Psichology Faculty of the UNLP and in 2015 was recognized by the Extension Office of the UNLP, executed in 2016. The Departmental “Alcaidías” constitute a novel retaining device, which works since 2011 in the Province of Buenos Aires. They are an area of accommodation for persons detained until processing. This device is part of an effort of satisfaction and compliance with international standards for humane conditions of detention. It is a modality to overcome the arrest in police stations as regards to decreasing the risk to life and optimization in respect to physical integrity and other rights of people staying.
