Author Guidelines

Please follow the following guidelines when submitting your article:

  1. Use a word processing software like Word or similar; accepted formats are .doc, .rtf and .odt (OpenOffice.org).
  2. The maximum length for a research paper is 14 pages (including notes and references). Paper size should be A4, with margins of 5,2 cm (top, bottom) and 4,4 cm (left, right). Lines should be single-spaced and font should be Times New Roman 10 pts. 
  3. The submission should be organized in the following order: title in Spanish, abstract in Spanish, keywords in Spanish (5 at most), title in English, abstract in English, keywords in English, body of work, references list.
  4. Author information (name, affiliation, email) should be sent in a separate file to guarantee anonymity at review time.
  5. Tables, graphics, photos and illustrations may be inserted in the text and should also be sent in a separate file (TIF, JPG or PNG format), numbered according to their sequence in the text. The minimum resolution accepted is 300 dpi.
  6. Textual transcriptions (quotations) of at most 3 lines should be kept in the main body of the text, between quotation marks, without italics or bold. In the case of quotations longer than 3 lines, they should appear separated from the main body of the text with a space at the start and another at the end, without quotation marks, italics or bold.
  7. Bibliographic citations that appear in the main body of text should follow the following style: (Author last name, date); in the case of textual transcriptions add pages, for example: (Ziviani, 1986, p. 49). In the case of more than one citation, they should be chronologically ordered by publication year, from oldest to newest, for example: (Ziviani, 1986, 1995). In the case of a citation to a research work with more than two authors, the citation should include the last name of the first author followed by et al. (without italics and a period). Do not use expressions like Op. Cit. and Ibid.
  8. The reference list should be placed at the end of the article, without indentation, and include only the research works cited in the article (if it is necessary to specify additional data –original edition, modification in editions, etc. – it should be added at the end of the corresponding citation). References in the list should follow the APA (7th version) style: Author last name, first name initials (year). Title. Editorial.

  1. Text that must be highlighted should be formatted in italics. Do not use underlined nor bold font in any case.
  2. Footnotes should be placed at the end of the page that contains the reference and not at the end of the article.
  3. Acknowledgements may be included under the title “Agradecimientos” after the notes and before the reference list.
  4. Submission: articles must be submitted electronically through the journal website (https://revistas.unlp.edu.ar/JAIIO). Authors should be previously registered.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
