Argentina: debates por Políticas Nacionales de Informática en Dictadura
Una mirada desde el periódico Mundo Informático (1979-1983)
Keywords:
Mundo Informático, National Informatics Policy, Military dictatorship in ArgentinaAbstract
The risk of dependence in the field of informatics and the need to formulate a National Informatics Policy, especially in less developed countries, began to become a global issue in the early 1970s. In Argentina, this issue became state policy in the first government of democracy, between 1983 and 1989. A recent study examines the contents of the specialized newspaper Mundo Informático during that six-year period and analyzes how these ideas were expressed there, as well as the official plans aimed at shaping a PNI. This paper seeks to explore, in the same journalistic environment, how this state of debate and proposal was generated during the previous years, in the context of a repressive dictatorship, whose liberal economic policy was in collision with the ideas that questioned technological dependence and were critical of such policy.
