La belleza de la programación
Los inicios de un nuevo campo científico en Buenos Aires (1961-1966)

In the early days of the computer era there was no talk of software systems and "computer science" could be considered an oxymoron. In the beginning of the 1960s at the Institute of Calculus of the University of Buenos Aires (ICUBA), those who were dedicated to programming were undervalued. The career of "Scientific Computer" at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences (FCEN) of the UBA provided a degree of lower hierarchy than the degrees in the raditional scientific disciplines. During the years of multifaceted activity at ICUBA this situation began to change. In these notes I aspire to dive into this process through the work and voices of its protagonists.
