Elections in Neuquén and Río Negro are carried out through three voting systems: Partidary Ballots, Unique Paper Ballot and Electronic Voting. This paper analyzes, from the perspective of electors, to what extent the ease of use, the secrecy, the integrity of the vote and the possibility of auditing an election, can be affected by the system used.
For this purpose, an experiment was conducted during the Comahue National University elections of May 23 and 24, 2022, which were held using the Partidary Ballot system. During the election day, a stand was set up near the polling stations and people who voted were invited to experience the process of vote with the Single Paper Ballot system and the Electronic Voting system.
This work observes that a high proportion of the university community recommends the Unique Paper Ballot system, valuing its ease of use, the secrecy and integrity of the vote and the possibility of auditing it. It is hoped that this work will contribute to the promotion of debates aimed at improving electoral processes.
