Performance comparison in wireless and wired communication
Keywords:

The growing demand of high-speed connectivity in homes and offices is driving the adoption of several networking technologies, with WiFi wireless and UTP wired connection being the most commonly used. Each one has advantages and disadvantages in terms of bandwidth, range, latency and stability. This study aims to compare both technologies and their tolerance to external interferences, such as microwave ovens and cable damage, to determine how these factors affect connection quality. We use the open-source tool iperf3, which is widely used in networking environments to measure parameters such as bandwidth, packet loss and latency.
