Abstract

Currently, software development companies seek to provide better customer service by delivering a quality product. To achieve this, some implement a quality management system that meets the requirements of the ISO/IEC 9001:2015 standard, thereby becoming more competitive. Customer satisfaction requires that the product and the development team adhere to a quality process, and to this end, the industry is moving toward adopting agile methodologies such as Scrum. This trend has grown in recent years. However, to compete in an international market, companies must not only implement management practices but also demonstrate that their processes meet certain product quality requirements. Therefore, companies seek ISO/IEC 9001:2015 certification. This proposal arose from the need to combine ISO/IEC 9001:2015 and Scrum, as the ISO 90003 guide provides guidelines for applying the ISO/IEC 9001:2015 standard in software development organizations, but does not provide references regarding the implementation of agile practices. Thus, a guide was defined for the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 in Scrum software projects. This guide enables companies and organizations to remain competitive in the software market. Additionally, a survey was defined as a research instrument to collect data and information to contextualize the use of agile methodologies and how the software development process was approached in different software companies.
