Abstract

In this paper, we present a model that combines an agentbased approach with a coupled dynamical equation model of the infection box type. The model allows us to estimate the probability of infection in everyday situations where people (agents) interact through various activities and in enclosed spaces. We analyze two complex heterogeneous scenarios by modifying i) the ventilation rate in some classrooms and ii) the duration of class and recess periods. These heterogeneous scenarios cannot be represented in standard agent-based models.
