Abstract

We present a basic object-oriented library designed to represent discrete-time compartmental epidemiological models with explicit delays. The models can be built with varying levels of complexity: with either constant or variable populations (including births and deaths), and allowing for the inflow and outflow of individuals external to the initial population. The library also enables a straightforward representation of vector-borne epidemics. In addition to the library description, this work includes example models and simulation results of a dengue outbreak model that incorporates meteorological phenomena, calibrated using real-world data.
