The Position of Computer Science in the Argentina Secondary School Curriculum: A Systematic Review

This study presents a systematic review of the compulsory school curricula in Argentine Secondary School in order to identify the place assigned to Computer Science in the different formative proposals. It also introduces a synthesis of computer science education situation in the country, aimed to describe and comprehend it and to offer input to cooperate with further analysis and definition of future prospects. At the beginning, a compilation of compulsory school curriculum was made. It resulted in twenty one school curricular units. The analysis of each one was made taking into account the paradigm adopted for the selection of contents and the location of computing in the study plan. The research shows the preponderance of the integrated approaches and the low participation of Computer Science in the curricular proposals.
