The heritage of Argentine informatics: Surveys and next steps in the construction of the AIA

Through this article we share the first steps and inquiries made for the design and construction of the Argentinean Informatics Archive (AIA). Although in the country it is possible to identify several computer science archives, records and memories, but there are still no historical archives on these subjects. Is it necessary to build one? What advantages does its creation offer? The article presents an initial survey of the heritage and / or nodes of memory, heritage and the archive of informatics in the national territory. Specifically, six of them are described and the heritage of the ‘Sociedad Argentina de Informática’ (SADIO) is explored further. The proposal seeks to increase the availability of these sources in order to improve historical andsocio - cultural research on informatics, computing, digital technologies and electronic networks in the República Argentina.
