Aims and Scope

Latin American Journal of Pharmacy (LAJP) is a scientific journal devoted to the publication of original research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The journal welcomes contributions covering, among other areas, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, drug absorption and metabolism, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis, drug delivery systems, pharmaceutical technology and biotechnology, pharmaceutical care, and clinical drug evaluation.

LAJP publishes original research articles, review articles, short communications, perspective articles, and opinion pieces. The journal encourages submissions that emphasize originality, scientific quality, and relevance to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences.

 

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to LAJP undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Submissions are first evaluated by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal's scope and compliance with editorial requirements. Manuscripts that pass this initial screening are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers.

Editorial decisions are based on scientific quality, originality, methodological soundness, relevance of the work, and clarity of presentation.

 

Open Access Policy

LAJP is a Diamond Open Access journal.

All articles are freely and immediately accessible to readers without subscription barriers. The journal does not charge article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees.

This open access model supports the wide dissemination of scientific knowledge and facilitates unrestricted access to research results for the global scientific community.

 

 

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their published work.

Articles published in LAJP are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license.

This license permits copying, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation of the material in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and to the journal as the original source of publication.

 

 

Publication Ethics and Good Editorial Practices

LAJP adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and scientific integrity.

Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to follow principles of transparency, responsibility, and academic rigor throughout the editorial process.

The journal discourages and takes measures against practices such as:

  • plagiarism

  • data fabrication or falsification

  • redundant or duplicate publication

  • inappropriate authorship attribution

Manuscripts may be screened using similarity detection tools to prevent plagiarism. 

 

Conflict of Interest Policy

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the evaluation, interpretation, or publication of research results.

Any relevant conflicts should be clearly stated in the manuscript.

 

 

Archiving Policy

The journal implements digital preservation mechanisms to ensure long-term accessibility of its published content.

Articles may be archived through digital preservation systems associated with the journal’s publishing platform and/or institutional repositories.

 

 

Author Responsibilities

By submitting a manuscript to LAJP, authors confirm that:

  • the work is original

  • it has not been previously published

  • it is not under consideration elsewhere

  • all authors have approved the final version of the manuscript

Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data presented and for complying with applicable ethical standards.

The names and email addresses entered on the journal website will be used exclusively for the purposes stated by this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

 

Corrections and Retractions 

LAJP is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record.

When necessary, the journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions to address significant errors or issues affecting the reliability or integrity of a published article.

Corrections may be issued when minor errors are identified that do not invalidate the main conclusions of the work. Retractions may occur in cases involving serious problems such as plagiarism, data fabrication, major methodological errors, or other forms of scientific misconduct.

Editorial decisions regarding corrections or retractions are made following careful evaluation by the editorial team and, when appropriate, consultation with reviewers or external experts.

 

Use of Artificial Intelligence

LAJP recognizes the increasing use of artificial intelligence tools in scientific research and manuscript preparation.

Authors may use AI-based tools to assist with language editing or data analysis; however, such tools cannot be listed as authors and the authors remain fully responsible for the content of the manuscript.

If AI tools have been used in the preparation of the manuscript, authors are encouraged to disclose this use transparently within the manuscript (for example, in the acknowledgments or methods section).

The use of AI tools must not compromise the integrity, originality, or accuracy of the scientific work.

 

Plagiarism Policy 

LAJP is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity.

All submitted manuscripts must represent original work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or any form of academic misconduct.

Submitted manuscripts may be screened using similarity detection software to identify potential cases of plagiarism or inappropriate text reuse. When evidence of plagiarism or unethical conduct is detected, the manuscript may be rejected or retracted following editorial evaluation.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that proper acknowledgment is given to the work of others through appropriate citations. 

 

Data Sharing and Research Transparency Policy

The LAJP encourages transparency and reproducibility in scientific research.

Authors are encouraged to make available the data supporting the findings of their studies whenever possible, either within the article, as supplementary materials, or through appropriate public repositories.

When applicable, authors should provide sufficient methodological detail to allow other researchers to reproduce the results.

The journal supports initiatives that promote open science, research transparency, and responsible data management.
