Abstract

Decía Sócrates en un pasaje del Fedón: "Los hombres nos hallamos en esta vida como un centinela en su puesto; no lo podemos abandonar sin permiso". Con esa advertencia nos internaremos en el tema de la relación entre el médico y el paciente, pues la misma se presta para poner de relieve los condicionamientos socioculturales de la conducta humana. La primera pregunta que correspondería hacer es: ¿cuál es nuestro puesto? y la segunda ¿quién lo determina? Las respuestas nos permitirán entrar de lleno en materia.
