ARFOR v1.0: Software para la Enseñanza de Robótica LEGO® MINDSTORMS®, utilizando Realidad Aumentada
Keywords:

Currently, robotics has become important due to the advancement and increased scope of available technology, motivating learning from an early age. In Bolivia, efforts are being made to introduce robotics as a regular subject in schools from a young age. In this context, Lego® Mindstorms® technology allows students to enter this domain through the use of educational kits. However, the cost of these sets is a problem for institutions that decide to use them, and even when 2 or 3 students use a kit, multiple sets are required simultaneously to meet educational needs. On the other hand, there are simulators for learning robotics with Legos, but the free options are very limited, and the paid ones are expensive, as licenses are mainly acquired per user or installer. This paper presents a proposal for developing software, ARFOR v1.0, for teaching Lego Robotics using augmented reality, which enhances the dynamics of learning and, most importantly, is accessible to any user with an Android device. ARFOR v1.0 is a tool for computer science teachers as it provides a resource to promote computational thinking and allows students to conduct robotics experiments with limited resources.
