Abstract

In recent years, a progressive competitiveness has been observed among companies in the agro-industrial sector due to the growing demand for agro-industrial products at a national and international level, which has led companies to adopt optimization models in production planning that Help them deal with problems like high costs, low profit margin, customer churn, and idle capacity. However, selecting the most suitable model can be challenging due to the nature of these. For this reason, this study aims to determine the application trends of optimization models that are used in production planning in the agro-industrial sector. For this, a research was carried out on the trends of these models through online databases of indexed primary scientific publications and theses of the last 10 years in Spanish, English and Portuguese. The results show that a total of 240 publications were obtained to which inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, of which the most widely used optimization model in this context is Mixed Integer Linear Programming.
