MATLAB application for the analysis and modeling of magnetization

Most system designs with magnetic cores require the anhysteretic curve of the material describing the magnetic saturation phenomenon. Here we present "MagAnalyst": an easy-to-use MATLAB application with a graphical user interface to analyze and model the anhysteretic magnetization of soft magnetic materials in the framework of the Silveyra-Conde Garrido theory. The proposed framework is based on the Langevin-Weiss equation of state -but reformulates the original problem into a simpler one with fewer fitting parameters, which are intrinsically bounded and for which good initial values can be easily estimated. Thus, it is possible to replace conventional stochastic methods for solving the original problem (which has local minima and a priori unknown parameter bounds) with deterministic methods that converge quickly to the optimal solution. MagAnalyst helps to visualize, analyze, and fit curves automatically without requiring optimization or programming skills. It returns model parameters, physical quantities of technological interest, and data tables of the modeled curves. The modeled curves of the magnetization and its derivative are continuous and differentiable. These properties speed up numerical solvers of circuit simulations and finite element models with magnetic components.
