Abstract

This systematic review aims to identify and analyze studies that have used AI for the detection and classification of fish species through hydroacoustics. Recent research was collected and evaluated to understand the AI techniques applied, the types of hydroacoustic data used, the challenges encountered, and the proposed solutions in this emerging field.
This article reviews scientific publications related to the use of AI for fish spe-cies detection using hydroacoustic techniques.
During the analysis of the articles, a limited use of existing sound databases was observed, as well as the absence of development frameworks for the detection of aquatic species.
