Estimaciones de funciones de Engel para electricidad residencial

Abstract

This paper analyzes the microeconomics determinants of the electricity household consume. Using the information from a recent expenditure budget survey, the Engel´s curve was estimated. Not only the impact on the income level changes it's investigated, but also the families sociodemographics characteristics. The consume-income relationship was estimated as well, and it was included as an instrumental equation to obtain the Engels´s curve parameters. Finally, the income-elasticity and expenditure elasticity were calculated for different types of functions. The results show an elasticity coefficient under the unity.
