La protección efectiva (tratamiento de los insumos de bienes domésticos)

Abstract

There were clearly expressed the basic differences between alternative methodological approaches by Balassa and Corden and the typical deviations from them, when empirical researchs about effective protection are faced in a context where cost structures reveal the presence of domestic goods, and values are stated in market prices. Then, estimations of effective protection for 41 international goods productive activities of the argentinian economy were made, and the respective rankings established. This allowed to observe important differences between the outcomes from Balassa's and Corden's methods, and to detect in which conditions it can be possible to achieve good empirical approaches to such methodological proveedings.
