Consideración sobre la factibilidad económica de proyectos ganaderos en la Argentina no pampeana
Keywords:
ganadería, sistemas de producción ganaderaAbstract
A vast amount of agricultural land in Northeast and Northwest Argentina is dedicated to bush grazing and production of high weight steers by way of a traditional technology. It is argued that land productivity in these areas can be increased if steer production is replaced by sales and production of 8 months old weaners. Massive undertaking of this change is efficient from the viewpoint of national agrarian policy. The proceeding proposal is evaluated by means of a numerical analysis of bull producing ranches at Salta, Argentina. The study permits to conclude that proposed changes are economically feasible. This statement is particularly true when ranches with overabundance of cattle are evaluated.
