Tendencias en la evolución de los salarios reales en Argentina: 1880-1910

Abstract

New series of salaries and prices are shown in this work, which covers the period 1882-1910. It deals with the antecedents, studies already made and existing information. With respect to the last, the author makes a through revision of the characteristics of the information published and known up to date, and also presents the mew information gathered. He studies the composition of the worker family consumption in Buenos Aires in order to determine the incidence of some articles in the cost of living. The results of this research work modify the most popular versions regarding the evolution of salaries and cost of living in the period under study.
