Algunos resultados de la política desarrollista (1958-1964): el caso de la industria automotriz

Abstract

The work presents an analysis of th structure and evolution of the Argentine automobile industry for the period 1958-64. The economic policy used and some of the major results achieved. The basic questioning of the reason for such a promotion and once the determination was taken, the consequences of the procedure. In order to reach its objective, the governments' economic policy is presented, with special emphasis upon the strategy employed and its growth concept. The structure and market evolution is next analyzed and ultimately the governments` policy is questioned, evaluating the arguments presented to justify the promoting of the automobile industry and procedure followed to give impulse to its evolution.
