"Different types of toxic virilities? Forms of abuse"

Abstract

This work questions the current expression toxic masculinity from the Lacanian psychoanalytic perspective. The virility does not necessarily correlate with the toxic but it can acquire such value if the body of the Other is forced. The text distinguishes and clarifies different degrees of abuse - forms through which toxicity emerges when phallic countenance does not regulate the enjoyment. Moreover, another type of abuse is introduced: the toxic effect of the super-ego that exercises some power on the desire but is defeated by its analysis.
