Abstract

This text proposes that being modern does not consist of being contemporary but being current, “en actuar-con-la-época” as stated by José Edmundo Clemente. That is why, when paraphrasing him, it may be possible to say that those who neglect culture novelties will never understand the message given by the new means of mass communication or the “novelty” in ancient mass media. From a criticism of the past schematism in radio statistics, the aim here is to enlighten the most current mediatic binaries in an era in which history seems to have turned into a comic strip.
