Abstract

On the basis of the classical opposition “reason vs. madness”, the present article will try to revisit some - among many others- currents of thought on this subject. Brief observations on the approach of this issue by the so called Classical Psychiatry will be made to then get focused in today’s clinical practice, taking into consideration the elaborations on “the Collapse of the Grand Narrative”, as well as the contributions of Freudian field.

Key words: Madness - Reason - Psychiatry - Ordinary psychosis.
