Abstract

This study reports the effect of parasitism of the mermithid Strelkovimermis spiculatus Poinar & Camino, 1986 (Nematoda, Mermithidae) parasitizing larvae of the mosquito Culex pipiens Linneaus, 1758 (Diptera, Culicidae) at histopathological level. Due to the presence of nematode, evidenced by their structures such as longitudinal chords and trophosome, we observed changes mainly at the intestinal epithelium, fat body and muscle of the larva.
