An "Espiral doble-pocito" as a potential calendrical-astronomical marker

The petroglyphs site “Presa de la Luz” is located outside of the Jesús María’s municipality, in the locality of San Jose de las Pilas, in the Altos de Jalisco. Nowadays it has been discovered more than 600 petroglyphs in the shores and around the dam (Esparza y Rodríguez,2018). In this paper we will analyze an “espiral doble-pocito” (Espiral 1) which is carved at the dem’s north shore over a set of petroglyphs called the Planchón Principal (Esparza y Rodriguez, 2018). The Espiral 1’s arms are orientated east-west and they part from one central point clearly defined. The Espiral 1 ́s astronomical orientation analysis revealed solar alignment for the East Arm (14th April and 28th August) and for the West Arm (26th February and 13th October). Particularly, the 26th February corresponds to one of the pairs of the 65 astronomic-calendar orientations family.
