Abstract

This paper develops an accessibility evaluation of four qualitative data analysis applications: AQUAD 8.1.6, atlas.ti 8.4, NVivo 20.4 and MAXQDA 2020. The first one is open source and the others are licensed for commercial use. In terms of methodology, a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach was adopted, evaluating its accessibility and compatibility with the NVDA screen reader, version 2020.3 (support software for visually impaired users), using the evaluation criteria from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. As a result, there is a complete lack of accessibility in all the programs examined.
