Una década de GeoRayos Web y App: evolucionando la protección contra rayos en Argentina

Se ha demostrado que cambiar comportamientos y corregir conceptos erróneos, en este caso, sobre la protección contra rayos, requiere continuidad en el tiempo y trabajo interdisciplinario. El Proyecto GeoRayos (www.georayos.citedef.gob.ar) nació hace más de 10 años con el objetivo de proporcionar una herramienta tanto en la parte operativa de las alertas meteorológicas, como en la protección de las personas. En este contexto, presentamos la evolución de GeoRayos desde sus inicios, destacando la importancia que implicó la sinergia entre diferentes instituciones para alcanzar nuestros objetivos. Al dı́a de hoy, contamos con una plataforma renovada que cuenta con una estructura diferenciada para el público en general y para los tomadores de decisiones, que agrega información sobre protección contra rayos y redes sociales afines a este tema. De esta manera, GeoRayos es utilizado actualmente por tomadores de decisiones de diversas instituciones como Defensa Civil, Servicio Nacional de Manejo del Fuego y Parques Nacionales, ası́ como por meteorólogos del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional de Argentina, entre otros.
