Resumen

La ingesta dietética es el patrón diario de alimentos y bebidas consumidos por un individuo, incluyendo los tipos, cantidades y contenido de nutrientes. Generalmente está influenciada por la edad, el sexo, la actividad física, el estado de salud, las prácticas culturales y los factores del estilo de vida. Evaluar la ingesta dietética ayuda a identificar deficiencias y excesos de nutrientes, así como la calidad general de la dieta. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la ingesta dietética y su asociación con factores socioeconómicos entre los Angami Naga de Nagaland, en el noreste de India. La dieta básica de los Angami Naga consiste principalmente en alimentos ricos en carbohidratos y proteínas. El arroz y la carne son los componentes fundamentales de su dieta, acompañados de verduras y condimentos fermentados como el chutney de chile king. La ventaja adaptativa de esta dieta tradicional es evidente dentro de esta comunidad indígena, ya que la prevalencia de enfermedades es relativamente baja. Por lo tanto, las prácticas dietéticas tradicionales y el conocimiento indígena sobre la preparación de alimentos pueden aportar beneficios para la salud de la comunidad.
