Abstract
The objective of this paper is to show that some authors have misinterpreted the real meaning of the saving constraint in the CHENERY-STROUT two gap model. The mentioned misinterpretation sometimes has a conceptual origin, when criteria for identifying the relevant constraint in an economy are devising and sometimes are more empirical, when an incorrect function is used to estimate the marginal capital-output ratio.
