La reversión de factores, la readopción de técnicas y la frontera de posibilidades de producción

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to derive the production possibility frontier in the presence of factor reversal or reswitching of techniques and to investigate its consequences for a –close or open-economy. The conclusion of the paper is that neither of these factors affect sensibly the shape of the production possibility frontier. In the case of reswitching of techniques it is shown that the equalisation of the marginal rate of substitution of the individuals and the marginal rate of transformation of the economy is a necessary but not a sufficient condition to belong to the utility possibility frontier.
