Abstract

This work analyzes the film "Argentina, 1985" from the standpoint of International Law; particularly, we will analyse the approach taken in the fight against impunity and accountability, and victim's human rights during Videla's military dictatorship. Thus, we will talk about the State's duty to investigate, prosecute and, when deemed appropriate, try alleged criminals, as well as the obligation to establish legal and judicial ways at a local level to make such obligations effective, and to acknowledge and safeguard victims' rights during the criminal process.
