In this paper we apply the methodology of Jorgenson-Nishimizu, to compare the economic growth, in absolute terms, between countries. They extended the sources of economic growth methodology, to identify the sources of differences of the gross domestic product between countries. We use this methodology to make a comparative study of the economic growth of Argentina, Brazil and United States in the period 1940-1973. The sources of differences of gross product between countries are the labor and capital inputs, and the technology factor. In this methodology the share of each source is identified. We find that the technology factor plays an important role, and some surprising results are also observed.
