Abstract

The voice is an essential tool for teaching. Improper use of vocal technique can cause problems which affect the physical well-being and professional performance of educators. This paper analyzes risk factors, the most common symptoms, and recommendations for preventing voice disorders, as well as institutional experiences in preventive training which we have been developing at the University of La Plata. An adequate voice use implies achieving maximum performance with minimal effort.
