Abstract

This paper addresses the book The Path of Spiders Nests (1947), by Italo Calvino. This novel is analyzed in its narratological categories and a strong emphasis is placed on some important points such as space as a magical element and the text as a manifestation of both the spirit of a period and an author. The purpose of the analysis is to understand The path of spiders nests better, according to the context in which it was written. In addition, this paper seeks to identify the author's style and genius, present in his writing from the very beginning.
