Análisis comparado de los sistemas internacionales de la antigua China y de la Europa moderna: una aproximación geopolítica desde el realismo estructural

Resumen

Este artículo es un análisis comparado de los sistemas internacionales de la antigua China y de la temprana Europa moderna. Presenta un enfoque geopolítico desde el realismo estructural que pretende responder a por qué Europa no desarrolló un orden imperial en contraste con China con un sistema multiestatal similar. Este estudio hipotetiza que la elevada fragmentación geopolítica, además de las condiciones geográficas, creó un sistema internacional anárquico e impidió la formación de un imperio continental en Europa gracias al equilibrio de poder. Para contrastar esta hipótesis se examinan los principales rasgos del sistema internacional chino y cómo evolucionó hacia un orden imperial. Esto nos lleva a estudiar el sistema internacional en Europa y cómo impidió el surgimiento de un imperio universal.
