Abstract

In this document, with a descriptive-interpretive look, it is proposed
a reading about the role of social movements and networks of movements in the
construction of the New Regional Financial Architecture —NRFA—. To this end, the
regional context is presented together with the financial proposal of this century, the
distinction between new and old social movements, and the most significant collective
actions deployed in pursuit of NRFA. It is concluded that social movements
are essential for society to be able to perceive the problems that concern itself, such as
financial ones, and imagine and construct alternatives for equality.
