Abstract

Progress in the integration of private international law in the EU continues to bear fruit with the adoption in the last three years of important legislation covering the three main branches of private international law, namely, international jurisdiction, applicable law, and recognition and enforcement of judgements.
This deepening has reached sensitive areas insofar as they touch on personal matters such as inheritance or the one that underlies our work, the regulation of matrimonial economic regimes with an international element: thus, the regulation on that this work is based, the regulation of enhanced cooperation shows the will to move forward in the project that Robert Schuman devised on May 9th, 1950.
