Abstract

Nowadays society shows a wide variety of situations with a high level of complexity. This fact makes solutions criteria and parameters, created under certain paradigms and for other times, to be unable to provide valid solutions to present situations of diverse conflictivity.

This imposes law, being the main media of conflict dissuasion and resolution, as well as a necessary instrument of access to justice, the need to develop new heuristic abilities and the competences that are required to provide lawyers with the intelectual and axiological competences society demands.

Sharing the criteria and fundamentals that pose Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods as a sign of Access to justice, training students of Law in mediation might be a way to provide Law adaptability to social and political demands.

This paper shows a proposal of curricular innovation where a series of conceptual triggers are identified in order to allow reflection about the need to train future lawyers on the basic abilities regarding the forms of autocompositive conflict resolution, particularly mediation
