Abstract

The doubly free knowledge is characterized by circulating with minimal restrictions of use, but also because its use is exempt from remunerating its producers. This work seeks to understand the knowledge flows that adopted this character in the 1980s, based on the case study. The units of analysis are the GNU, Perl and GenBank projects. In its cognitive material configurations, we find objective, subjective, intersubjective and biological knowledge, which materialized in informational goods regulated by copyright licenses or the public domain.
