Quanto FLOSS existe na indústria de software da Argentina?

Este artigo tem como objetivo fornecer estatísticas para o caso argentino sobre a relevância do FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source Software) no nível da produção empresarial. Isto é feito com base em uma análise descritiva da "III Pesquisa sobre Inovação no Setor de Software na Argentina 2019". Primeiramente, é avaliado o grau de importância do FLOSS no nível de produção e vendas no setor. Em segundo lugar, são mostrados os tipos de FLOSS realizados pelas empresas argentinas pesquisadas. Finalmente, uma série de aspectos comportamentais e de desempenho (em termos de vínculos, inovação e treinamento) são comparados entre empresas FLOSS e não-FLOSS. O artigo conclui que a maioria das empresas de software da amostra produzem ou utilizam software livre ou de código aberto. E que não há diferenças estatisticamente significativas em tamanho, comportamento ou desempenho entre empresas que produzem e/ou prestam serviços baseados em FLOSS e empresas não-FLOSS.
