Abstract

The present work analyses the positive aspects and suggests some improvements for the tool Recogito after its application for the georeferential analysis of a medieval document. It is the dower registry produced for queen Eleanor Plantagenet in 1170 and that contains a list of benefits and locations that the Castilian consort received as marriage rights. Beyond the limitations and problems perceived in using this tool, geographic visualization and distant reading helps to confirm some conclusions already reached from close reading.
