Un modelo teórico sobre educación pública y distribución del ingreso
Keywords:
acceso a la educación, economía de la educación, distribución del ingresoAbstract
The paper studies the characteristics and basic results of a dicrete choice model on education, which allows for both public and private provision, and for opportunity costs of attending school. Only ordinal properties of the utility function are assumed. Individuals only differ in their exogenous incomes. With these assumptions ít is showed that it is likely that "poor" people do not go to school, "middle income" people attend public institutions, while "rich" people choose to go to private schools. The paper also includes some normative results.
